I’d like to introduce myself. My name is Catherine (Cath) Bashforth and I’m proud to be the Village Manager at Oak Tree Goonellabah.
I was born and bred in the Northern Rivers but have been living in and loving Lismore since 2008. My husband runs a busy Earthmoving company, and our children attend school and work here. Our family really values living where the sense of community is strong and there are lots of great things to do.
Outside of Oak Tree I volunteer as a Board Member of CASPA, a local charity that supports young people and their families to thrive. Our family also spends a lot of time at sporting activities. One of my favourite things to do is getting out in my garden. I certainly get lots of inspiration from our village.
I have a love for people which is what inspired me to work in the retirement sector initially. The Goonellabah village has been here since 2015 and I am proud to have been a part of the Oak Tree family since that time. I have had great pleasure in being able to help our wonderful residents find their new homes. There is a lot of joy seeing new friendships emerge and often old ones rekindled. Watching the community develop from 4 homes to now 80 as a completed village has been a privilege.
Oak Tree is a wonderful company with many hard working and dedicated people. At the core we hold our organisational values firmly, which means our residents are always at the forefront of everything we do.
I look forward to the future of Oak Tree Goonellabah and am always happy to answer any questions regarding Oak Tree and retirement village living.
I look forward to meeting you soon.
