Three and a half years ago, Carol made what she calls “a very wise move” to Oak Tree Tamworth. As a very active member of the community, she’s deeply involved in voluntary organisations, serving as the president of the local hospital auxiliary. For Carol, Oak Tree has been the perfect fit, offering a low maintenance lifestyle that allows her to focus on the things she loves without the burden of home upkeep!

“I had a lovely home, but after my husband passed away, it became too much to manage on my own. I just happened to be at a community event in the village when I thought, ‘Oh wow, this place looks nice,’” Carol recalls. That moment led to her decision to join the Oak Tree community—a decision she hasn’t looked back on since.

Financially, the move made perfect sense. “The ongoing costs here are very manageable, and everything is taken care of for me. There’s so much certainty and peace of mind that comes with having one small weekly fee.”

One of the biggest highlights for Carol is the flexibility of the village’s social life. “I love the social aspect, but I also love that I can pick and choose when I want to be involved. I go to morning teas on Mondays and Wednesdays and happy hour on Fridays. But I also have my own commitments outside the village, and I love that I can balance both.”

Her villa has become a true home—comfortable, functional, and perfect for her lifestyle. “I’ve got it just how I like it, and I love to call it home,” she shares. “I use one of the bedrooms as an office, and I have space for my family when they come to visit. It’s the ideal setup.”

Oak Tree also provides Carol with a sense of security and peace of mind, especially when she travels. “I’m going on a couple of trips soon, and the best part is I can just lock up and leave—no worries about mowing, mail, or maintenance.”

Looking back, Carol is confident she made the right decision. “I don’t have one bad word to say. Every time I drive in, I think, ‘I made the absolute right choice at this stage of my life.’”
