After spending an amazing 47 years in their five-bedroom family home, Meg and Greg knew it was time to downsize. Their search led them to Oak Tree Broadmeadow, and from the moment they stepped inside, they knew they had found the perfect place.
“We had been looking to downsize for about a year,” Meg explains. “Initially, I thought we wanted a three-bedroom townhouse with a pool and a garage, but after reassessing our needs and budget, we decided to look at different options. When I saw the sign for Oak Tree Broadmeadow, I called straight away. We visited the very next day, and every question we asked just had a positive answer. It seemed too good to be true!”
Initially, Meg and Greg had reserved another apartment, but when a different unit became available, they knew it was meant to be. “The moment we saw this apartment, we fell in love with it. It just felt right!” The financial certainty that comes with the Oak Tree lifestyle was also a huge selling point for them. “Knowing exactly what our weekly outgoings would be—without any unexpected body corporate fees—was such a relief.”
One of the unexpected joys of Meg and Greg’s move has been the newfound sense of community. “We weren’t looking for the social aspect,” Meg admits. “We just wanted to spend more time with our friends. But now, I’m president of the social club! I didn’t expect to take on the role, but I love bringing people together.”
The vibrant and friendly atmosphere of Oak Tree Broadmeadow has made a lasting impression. “Every time you step outside, you run into a neighbour, share a chat, and have a laugh. It just puts a smile on your face for so much more of the day. The community is so considerate—when we had a New Year’s Eve gathering, everyone helped clean up before they left. It’s that kind of spirit that makes this place feel like home.”
Meg and Greg also love their apartment’s functionality. “We did a big declutter before moving in, and although storage was initially a bit of a challenge, we built extra cupboards to maximize space. It’s wonderful to have the option to make your own modifications if you feel you need to.”
Since moving in, Meg and Greg have already hosted a number of social gatherings, making use of their beautiful brand-new kitchen and seamless indoor/outdoor entertaining area! “We’ve even hosted up to 17 people for dinner, and it didn’t feel crowded at all! The design is fantastic, and our wraparound balcony is a dream. We thought it would take six months to settle in, but honestly, it took six hours. We just love it.”
Security and convenience were also key factors in their decision. “The car park is secure but isn’t underground, which was a big plus for me, and it has fresh air flow. Being on the third floor, we’ve got privacy but still feel connected to the vibrancy of the neighbourhood,” says Meg.
Reflecting on their move, Meg says, “We absolutely made the right decision. Oak Tree Broadmeadow is not just a place to live—it’s a wonderful, supportive community that truly feels like home.”
