Recently, Oak Tree Retirement Villages proudly celebrated an important milestone at its 217 Taylor Street community in Armidale, marking the launch of the final stage of the boutique 32-villa retirement village.
The occasion brought together future residents, team members and local representatives for a Step Inside Tour and official ribbon-cutting ceremony, including Councillor Sam Coupland, Mayor of Armidale Regional Council.
“As our region continues to grow, it’s essential we invest in quality housing solutions that support senior residents to remain connected, comfortable, and close to everything they value,” Mayor Coupland said.
Oak Tree Group Regional Manager, Carolyn Beresford, reflected on the organisation’s long-standing connection to the region.
“Oak Tree is proud to be celebrating our ongoing commitment to the seniors community in Armidale,” Ms Beresford said.
“We’ve invested in this region for more than 10 years and are honoured to provide local seniors with the opportunity to downsize and retire in a place they know and love.”
Oak Tree Taylor Street has been thoughtfully master-planned to support connected, independent living. Every home sits within a five-minute walk of the Village Centre, offering residents easy access to shared amenities and social spaces, including the much-loved bowling green.
This final stage introduces 12 brand-new villas, comprising a mix of two- and three-bedroom homes, with prices starting from $595,000. The first villas are complete and ready to welcome new residents, with remaining new homes and amenities scheduled for completion in early 2026.
The Taylor Street expansion complements Oak Tree’s nearby retirement village at 89 Martin Street, further strengthening Oak Tree’s presence in Armidale. Martin Street currently includes 33 villas, with construction underway on the final 47 villas, due for completion in Q4 2026.
