Oak Tree Retirement Villages recently welcomed strong community interest at its Stage Launch & Information Sessions on Thursday 26 February, held onsite at Oak Tree Retirement Village, Platz Street in Darling Heights.
With demand so significant, the event was split into two sessions – morning and afternoon – attracting more than 70 guests eager to learn about the final stage of development.
Attendees heard from Oak Tree Group CEO Christine Gilroy, Group Development Manager Luke Thomas, Regional Manager Lissa Olsen and Sales Manager Mary O’Neill, as well as local downsizing experts from Task Tamers and real estate specialists from RealWay Property Partners.
Local agents noted that the Toowoomba property market is currently a strong seller’s market, creating a favourable opportunity for many homeowners considering downsizing and making a move to retirement living.
Christine Gilroy reminded guests that retirement living is about much more than new homes – it’s about people, choice and the next phase of life.
‘We know downsizing isn’t just about moving house. It’s simplifying life, it’s gaining security, it’s finding connection. Our goal is straightforward – to create places people are proud to call home,’ Ms Gilroy said.
Guests were able to explore the existing village and view the location of the upcoming villas from a number of different vantage points throughout the community, helping bring the next stage of Darling Heights to life.
Current residents were also on hand throughout the day, warmly welcoming guests and sharing their own experiences of living at Oak Tree, answering questions and offering a genuine insight into village life.
The final stage of Darling Heights will deliver 35 new beautiful villas including 20 three-bedroom and 15 two-bedroom homes, bringing the community to 55 residences once complete.
Combined with the fully occupied 58-home Baker Street village, Oak Tree will deliver a total of 113 boutique retirement homes in Toowoomba.
Each home has been designed with accessibility and comfort in mind, featuring step-free access, spacious bathrooms, smart kitchen layouts, private irrigated gardens and access to community amenities like the Village Centre, pool, vegetable garden and bowling green. The village is also pet friendly.
