Oak Tree Armidale celebrates the construction of the final stage at Martin Street village

This week marked an exciting milestone for Oak Tree Armidale as we officially broke ground on the final stage of our Martin Street community. Joined by Armidale Regional Council Deputy Mayor Todd Redwood, local Councillors, residents, and project partners, we celebrated the start of construction on the final 47 villas in our much-loved community.

With demand for quality seniors’ living on the rise in the region, this next stage will bring even more opportunities for local retirees to enjoy a secure, low-maintenance lifestyle — right in the heart of Armidale.

When complete, the Martin Street community will feature a total of 80 purpose-built villas, alongside shared amenities including a Village Centre, bowling green, communal garden, dog park, workshop space, and BBQ area. The villas are being delivered in stages, with the first homes expected by mid-2026.

“Our vision has always been to create communities that allow seniors to stay connected to the people and places they love,” said Carolyn Beresford, Regional Manager at Oak Tree Group. “We’re proud to have been part of the Armidale community for over 10 years — and this next chapter is a testament to that ongoing commitment.”

This project also reflects Oak Tree’s focus on supporting local industry, with both the Martin Street and nearby Taylor Street villages being built in partnership with local trades and suppliers.
