Resident Jam & Chutney Stall
Among many other stalls with all things yummy and nice
We might have had a bit of rain on the day but nothing dampened our good mood and positive energy as we set up and hosted our very first Senior's Expo at our Village.
Held within and around our community centre, stall holders from all over Warwick, Brisbane and Toowoomba joined us to promote their products and services aimed at seniors and many locals braved the cold drizzle to come and support the event.
Several residents turned up to assist on the day, even volunteering to host their own stalls consisting of home baked goodies, jams and chutneys, as well as some arts and crafts.
We saw some familiar faces from our Toowoomba village make a visit to lend a hand - Sharon, the Village Manager gladly accepted the role of drawing out the lucky door winners whilst Jenny presented the happy winners with a wide array of prizes donated by the stall owners.
Although a lot of work to organise, it was a worthwhile exercise putting a variety of senior related products/services in the one vicinity. Our residents all commented on how good it was to walk around the expo and find out about different social groups, products and activities happening/available in an and around the area.
Thanks to all the stall owners for participating. And thanks to everyone who showed up to enjoy the day. Great work to Jenny who orgainsed the event.
