Residents out and about at the Carnival of Flowers
Toowoomba's Carnival of Flowers
Oak Tree Toowoomba residents, together with Village Manager Sharon, ventured out for a days outing to the famous Tooowoomba Carnival of flowers.
Renowned for its maginficent flower exhibits full of vibrancy and interesting plant specimens, Toowoomba is a sea of colour this time of year and hosts a number of garden shows, demonstrations and displays all around the city and Spring Bluff.
Residents were keen to view this year's prize winners and delighted in some lovely coloured orchids which won first prize. A few green thumbs amongst us, there were a few with eyes and ears to the ground, trying to pick up a few handy tips of the trade.
Rather hot for Toowoomba this time of year, there was lots of walking in the warm sun, plus, wherever there was a chance, lots of resting in cool shady spots with ice cold drinks.
We don't complain about the heat too much though - how could we - It is spring in Toowoomba! And it is lovely.
