Park Avenue learns about Home Assist
This week residents from Park Avenue attended an information session n our Community Centre from the co-ordinator of the Central Queensland Home Assist Secure.
Whilst many residents have used this service it was a chance for Sandy to keep us up to date on the service as the central office here in Rockhampton is moving to Schotia Place.
The service is funded by both State and Federal Governments, for residents holding a Commonwealth Government pension concession card, offering financial subsidy up to $400 (depending on their budget) to clients for work needed to assist with a client’s health, safety or security. Working with Occupational Therapists they can install grab rails; repair appliances ie Fridge, stove, air conditioners; leaking toilets, repair faulty power points to name a few services inside our resident's units.
Sandy gave out a new information flyer, new fridge magnets, and little key ring torch light, for residents attending. We all enjoyed afternoon tea and Sandy mingled and answered questions.
Oak Tree is proud to be able to coordinate such services for our residents so that they can live more comfortably in their villas for longer, especially as their needs change.
