Burpengary's mini seniors expo
Oak Tree Retirement Village Burpengary last week hosted a mini seniors expo in celebration of Seniors Week.
Some 20 different companies set up stalls/information tables at the village community centre and put their products and services on display to the many local seniors who wondered through.
From social groups such as U3A, travel companies such as The Travel Experts, care providers such as Churches of Christ Care and many more, the local seniors had an array of information to gather on many different topics, and easy access to the knowledgeable people who could provide them with good advice and simple direction.
Lucky door prizes were donated by Oak Tree and several of the exhibitors and were called out every 15 minutes to the lucky prize winners.
Morning tea was served and guests and residents were happy to mingle over a cup of warm tea or coffee, many staying well into the morning to enjoy the lunch time sausage sizzle too.
A great time was had by all who attended, many stating the expo was invaluable. Many of the exhibitors would like the expo to become an annual event at the village as it gives them the opportunity to mingle with local seniors in a casual environment.
Thank you to everyone who helped organise the event, to all of the exhibitors and most of all, to all those who came to suppport the event.
