Having fun at high tea
Sweet High Tea in Cairns
Oak Tree Retirement Village Cairns played host to a recent High Tea fund raising event for "Relay For Life."
Long term Oak Tree resident, Wendy Knox arranged and chaired the successful event which saw a total of 54 people attend. Attendees were a mix of fellow Oak Tree residents and other guests, friends and family from outside of the village.
The room was decorated beautifully in colours of aqua, pink and purple and tables were laden with delicious food and tiered platters as is traditional high tea custom.
Approximately $2000 was raised in support of the Cancer Council through the generousity of the attendees via entry fee, raffles and the cent sale.
"A great day was enjoyed by all and full congratulations must be handed to Wendy for arranging such a fun event for everyone to be involved in and made even better by supporting a worthy cause," said Village Manager Guy Smith.
