Marco and I went up to our Rockhampton village during the week to host another of our director’s lunches with the residents. We had a great day – as usual the food was great, the jokes – not so great (mine) and the company wonderful. It’s always a thrill for us to visit the residents in our villages in this way. Food brings us all together to share stories and experiences – catching up on recent travel experiences of our residents is uplifting – it’s great for us to see that people are enjoying life – taking the opportunity of a maintenance free lifestyle to do things they may not have ever had the chance to do before now.
Most of our residents in the Rocky village are from the local area – this is consistent with our other villages and proves the point that, by and large, local seniors do not want to leave the area they love when they move into a village or higher care.
The Rocky village looks amazing – apart from being the winner in a recent Garden Competition held in Rockhampton, it has endured low rainfall, high rainfall, cold, heat – you name it! – and Dave, our Support Team and Maintenance boss, has done an amazing job. We are very lucky to have Robyn (Dave’s wife and Village Manager) and Dave on our team.
We are very busy right through until Christmas – we have another Director’s lunch later in the month at Yeppoon. Franco and I will host this one – it’s always great to get to the coast.
Look out for our Christmas Carols functions in each of the villages – our Managers can provide details of event times if you’d like to attend.
Until next week
