Queensland Senior’s Week was held in late August this year and Oak Tree’s Burpengary Village was a hive of activity to mark the occasion.
Within the Village the resident’s enjoyed a display organised by the very talented art group from the “University of the Third Age”.
There was also a mixed sports day and BBQ lunch that saw most residents getting involved. They tried their hand at bocce, croquet ,indoor bowls ,darts and snooker along with other novelty events.
Oak Tree also had a presence outside the village when they got involved in the “Bribie Island Seniors’ Expo” to promote the independent lifestyle on offer amongst other suppliers working locally with seniors. A number of helpful residents joined our Village Manager at the Expo and were happy to give outsiders a glimpse of what is in offer at Oak Tree.
At Oak Tree, we feel that it is important for residents to have the opportunity to enjoy social activity in the company of others. There are active residents’ groups within the villages who assist the Managers to arrange these events and most people are glad to have the chance to get involved.
