Every operational Oak Tree Village has a Village Manager who in addition to over-seeing a busy maintenance schedule to keep the community facilities spick and span, co-ordinates a Calendar of Events for residents.
While there are some similar regular activities which take place each week or month, the Calendar of Events varies from village to village as it is planned around the interests of the village residents and in keeping with the local environment.
Some of the events in the community centre include craft classes, book club, happy hour and Mahjong where as some of the outdoor activities include walking groups and Tai Chi.
Each village also hosts a variety of events for special occasions such as Easter Hat Parade and Morning Tea events, State of Origin supporter nights and even St Patricks Day luncheons.
There are other activities such as aqua aerobics and croquet on the green that are popular in villages in Northern Queensland, while further south, 8 ball, bingo and movie nights are extremely well attended.
The Village Manager also ensures there are activities away from the village such as bus trips to other villages, outings to museums and even assisting residents to take cruises through the islands off the coast.
Whatever social activity you enjoy, you can do it at Oak Tree when you move into one of our villages. We welcome you to contact our local Village Manager to attend an event before you move in.
