Acceptance of support

Early Monday morning Australian time a young man named Adam Scott won the US Masters Golf tournament. For those of you who are not golfers, this is the pinnacle in world golf – so much so that Adam becomes the first Australian ever to win the event. Not even the great Greg Norman was able to claim victory in his many attempts. Australians have finished second 8 times over the years which is a testament to our strength as a sporting nation but also indicative of the huge challenge this particular event poses to those who are skilled enough to qualify for the event.

What has the got to do with Oak Tree I here you ask? Quite a lot actually.

Adam, in his post event remarks, was very quick to recognise that his success in the event, and in his career, had a lot to do with other people. Watching the event on TV in golf clubs all around Australia were thousands of people cheering the Australian players on. The support base was massive.

Every person needs support throughout their lives and careers. But most importantly, people need support when they retire and their health needs change.

Our role at Oak Tree is to provide support throughout the decision making process. Community living is all about support – a little or a lot, it’s entirely up to you. As your needs change then so do your support needs. Wouldn’t it be great to have the support when you need it, rather then when it’s too late?

Our ambition is to help you enjoy life to the fullest. It’s true that it’s largely up to you but we at Oak Tree can play an important role in making this happen – you only have to ask.

Adam Scott had to make changes in his life to maximize his potential and become the best he can be. Parts of those changes were about making his working environment right for him and his supporters.

Come and see us and see if we can help you make a change for the better. A phone call and visit to the village is all you need to see if what we offer is for you.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Warm Regards
Mark.
