Yeppoon's bus trip down memory lane
Yesterday a group of Yeppoon residents set off on a historical bus tour travelling down memory lane.
Leaving at 9.30 in the morning we headed over to the Mt Chalmers Historic Museum where residents enjoyed a lovely morning tea and a look around at trinkets from yester-year remembering the "good old days".
The museum is run by volunteers who do a wonderful job of collecting and preserving the town's history.
From the museum we then set off for a sticky beak around Joskeleigh - a small town originally settled by the South Sea Islanders on the banks of the Coorooman Creek.
We enjoyed a lovely lunch at the Keppel Sands Hotel where a few yarns were told - it is fantastic to see the residents continue to get to know their neighbours whilst enjoying a fun day out together.
Taking the scenic route home through the town of Cawarral we were delivered home safely by 2pm where many, we're sure, retired to their villas for a quiet afternoon nap.
A great day enjoyed by all. Looking forward to the next one!
