Village decorated from pillar to post
Knitting up a storm
With Warwick's famous Jumpers and Jazz festival kicking off this week, Oak Tree Retirement Village Warwick residents have been knitting up a storm to decorate the Village Community Centre to celebrate in the fun.
This year's festival is themed Bohemian.
"It's a colourful theme I think we fit pretty well and the residents have been working very hard in the lead up to the event," says Village Manager Mary.
The annual festival sees trees, sign posts, shop windows e.t.c decorated in knitted fare and jazz music played in the city centre throughout the festival.
"Schools and local businesses participate and put their creative flair to the test with some intricate and colourful designs on display and this year the residents thought...why not show off some of what we can do?"
The bunting flags draped at the entrance of the community centre are the labour of love from Beryl who has been a resident of Oak Tree for twelve months.
Next the residents are going to decorate the gardens and trees.
The Festival runs from the 21st of July to the 29th of July and brings visitors from near and far.
