And the game begins...
Toowoomba hosts the first inter village bowls day
To celebrate the recent completion of our community centre, Oak Tree Toowoomba was honoured to play host to Oak Tree's very first multi village, inter-village bowls tournament.
Oak Tree teams from Goodna, Boronia Heights, Warwick and Burpengary travelled to Toowoomba for the day to complete for the winning trophy making it the biggest Oak Tree tournament thus far with over 60 people in attendance.
A brilliant day was had by all, consisting of multiple matches and a wonderful spread of food for a delicious lunch prepared by Village Manager Sharon.
There was lots of competitive rivalry going on between Oak Tree Regional Managers who were barracking for their villages to win plus a lot of encouragement and psyching each other up or out, depending on how you look at it, across the different teams.
But who was the winner at the end of the day? It was Warwick who took home the champion title. Toowoomba and Burpengary tied for second which we don't think is too bad given we only had our bowls green to practice for two weeks before hand.
All we can say is - watch out for us at the next tournament! Our residents are so excited and thankful to have some wonderful facilities in their own back yard and will be sure to put in a lot of practice over the coming months.
