Park Aveune goes GREEN for St Paddy's Day
Oak Tree Park Avenue definitely didn't miss St Paddy's day - walk into the community centre and the whole world would know it's an Irish celebration with everything green, green and more green!
Just another excuse for a get together, and celebration, Oak Tree's Village Manger Tarnya treated the residents with an all you can eat "Green Feast" for morning tea. Residents dined on green cupcakes, green slice, green cake and green cordial, not to mention the entire room was decorated in green, along with many of the residents sporting something green and quirky in typical Irish spirit.
The morning kicked off with a general knowledge quiz about St Patrick's day with some of the answers surprising a number of residents. Fabulous prizes were up for grabs, the only rule being they had to wear what they won on the day.
Some of our winners were lucky enough to score themselves four leaf clover headbands/badges, earrings but the best prizes went to Fran and Del – Fran won a headband with a nice little top hat and Del took home the lucky door prize which was a top hat and ginger beard all in one. Luckily she was let off from wearing it for too long due to it being so hot!
Everyone had a great time. Next on the agenda is Easter!!
