Making you feel more secure
For all of us, security and feeling safe in our own home is very important and for this reason the theme of this month's morning tea at Oak Tree Retirement Village Goodna was Crime Prevention.
Oak Tree invited the local police to their morning tea event to talk to the residents about what they can do to further protect their homes, belongings and themselves from possible intruders.
The community centre was filled to the brim with residents as they watch a power point presentation and heard basic tips such as:
- Make it as difficult as possible for the offender to enter your property
- Make it as difficult as possible for the offender to exit your property
- Make it as difficulet as possible for the offender to dispose of your property
- Make it easy for the offender to get noticed.
Ï think the information was very helpful to many of our residents and will just make them think a little more about what security measures they can personally put in place," said Village Manger Peter.
Of course, Oak Tree takes Village Security very seriously for the comfort of our residents.
The Village has an automated security gate which is closed of an evening to limit public entry. The Villages also has full perimeter fencing.
Security cameras are located throughout the village in prime locations to capture unwanted activity and Oak Tree's Village Manager Peter is regularly on site to keep an eye on things.
"The beauty of communal living is that all of the residents look out for one another and will notify me of any fishy activity.
"Oak Tree offers security in numbers which goes a long way in offering our residents peace of mind," said Peter.
