Directors Hawaiian Feast
At Oak Tree the Drectors host an annual event at each village.
They put on a big spread for all the residents to enjoy a social get together.
This year our theme was Hawaiian. We baked ham on the bone, expertly carved up by Melissa, with Chat potatoes and a variety of salads, freshly baked bread rolls followed by heaps of fresh tropical fruit and frangipani pies.
With flowers in our hair and leis around our necks, not to mention the many Hawaiian shirts we felt like we were close to a tropical island in Hawaii.
The community centre was colourfully decorated with balloons, hibiscus and a big happy sun shone down on us and topping it off was gentle Hawaiian music playing in the background.
A great day had by all. Thank you Mark, Franco and Melissa.
