Cairns’ Reef 'n' Hinterland Trip
We live in a beautiful, tropical part of the world and our residents love to make the most of it, this month travelling inland to tour the picturesque Altherton Tablelands on the organised Reef 'n' Hinterland day trip.
It was glorious weather and the happy group boarded the bus which toured the scenic strip up to Lake Barrine, and along the Gilles Highway with wonderful elevated views of the countryside.
Stopping at Lake Barrine they climbed onboard a boat for a trip around the lake, the skipper pointing out the Kauri Pine trees as well as the marine and birdlife. Hungry residents were delighted by a delicious morning tea of scones, jam and cream.
But the adventures weren't over yet - next they stopped at the impressive Malanda Falls, in full flow, just outside of the town of Malanda. From there they visited Millaa Millaa falls and the beautiful swimming hole before enjoying a lovely lunch at the Mungalli Falls watching the water rapids beside the cafe.
Residents returned home relaxed after a day of sightseeing and ready for an afternoon siesta.
Plans are being made for next's month's day trip. Looking forward to seeing what we all get up to next!
