Boronia's Inter-village bowls competition
Thursday the 17 October was the Oak Tree Inter-village bowls tournament. Five Queensland Oak Tree village players and supporters descended on the Toowoomba village and had a fantastic social day.
16 residents from Boronia Heights travelled up in 4 cars. We fielded 2 teams of bowlers but just missed out on a win with our second team. Les Scott proved to be a dark horse with a couple of hits on the kitty while Ruth Cremonini proved to be a powerhouse by smashing the kitty into the ditch. Ruth blamed her power on her tenpin bowling experience.
Morning tea and lunch were fabulous. Many thanks to Toowoomba village manager Sharon for a fantastic effort in providing the great food and organising the day’s events.
Ruth & Dorothy tell me they’re going to arrange social bowls days in the village since we all had so much fun.
But who took home the winning trophy at the end of the day? We are sad to say it was the Warwick village but we’ll be back much better practised next year to take them on. Go Boronia!
