This week we welcomed the first residents into Oak Tree Goonellabah, our youngest village. Located in the New South Wales northern rivers district and nestled high on the hill overlooking the township of Lismore is the relatively unknown suburb of Goonellabah.
The natural geography being extremely hilly proves a challenge for most seniors. Incoming residents have said the lack of steps and maintenance free living has been most appealing.
“We love that there are no steps and the villas are just lovely. We are very happy to be living here” said Mrs Felton (pictured).
Stunning views at every corner coupled with investment to infrastructure and services has provided an opportunity for Goonellabah locals to remain in their comfort zone and not relocate to Lismore or beyond.
Our village manager, Catherine Bashforth, has a very busy month ahead as preparation to welcome the next wave of residents is upon us ……..and so the growth of a community begins.
Stage one was built late last year and consists of four homes which sold out quickly as demand is high. Cath has a number of pre-sales in stage two and three which gives great comfort that independent retirement living is seen as the right move by many.
Construction of the village centre and swimming pool will commence after Easter and will be ready for residents to enjoy Christmas celebrations.
Stay tuned for further updates on Goonellabah.
Have a great week
