A hoot of a part for Bob
Oak Tree Skye resident Bob turned 80 and what a party they had.
With 85 friends and family from all of Australia in the village community centre, the room was decked out in Stetson posters and red, black and white helium balloons to signify Bob's support for St Kilda. Table upon table was covered in delicious food to feed the droves of people - residents contributed by bringing a plate but most of the food was deliciously prepared by Bob's loving family.
With a country rock theme, party music was performed by Bob's son Wayne's band who rocked the night away, resting for a short stint while hired bagpipe musician entertained everyone with a few old favourites. Bob's family proved they were groovers and shakers by performing a dance routine to "We are Family" to which everyone applauded and cheered.
The cake was the centre piece of the night, as all good cakes should be - a wooden log with a small whiskey bottle inside.
A great night was had by all and it was acclaimed to be the best party ever held at Oak Tree Skye.
